Beethoven@250 is a Bay Area-wide celebration throughout 2020 to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth in conjunction with performing organizations and individual musicians & groups.
In 2020, the entire world will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), the creative genius whose music continues to inspire and enrich the lives of people all over the globe.
As a large metropolitan area with a diverse and rich music scene, the San Francisco Bay Area is positioned to be one of the major hubs of the anniversary celebrations. The American Beethoven Society, in conjunction with the Ira F. Brilliant Center for Beethoven Studies, created the Beethoven@250 calendar and webpage to highlight performing organizations, individual musicians and groups, teachers and students, professionals and amateurs, who are participating in special Beethoven events in the Bay Area throughout the year.
