Beethoven@250 is a Bay Area-wide celebration throughout 2020, in conjunction with performing organizations and individual musicians/groups, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth.
We invite you and your organization to join us in the celebration!
In 2020, the entire world will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), the creative genius whose music continues to inspire and enrich the lives of people all over the globe. As a large metropolitan area with a diverse and rich music scene, the San Francisco Bay Area is positioned to be one of the major hubs of the anniversary celebrations. Beethoven@250 is a celebration that will bring together performing organizations, individual musicians and groups, teachers and students, professionals and amateurs, for an inclusive and participatory year-long festival that will offer many opportunities to hear, learn, and discover Beethoven and his music.
We invite you to join us. Please register to enter your events in the calendar and to receiveBeethoven@250 updates. The calendar is NOW OPEN to Beethoven events from 2018 through 2021.
Please help us give Beethoven a special gift: a year of listening, exploring, and celebrating his creative genius. Your support will help the Beethoven Center and the American Beethoven Society create exhibits, plan concerts, and join in the festivities taking place all over the world. Our current goal is to raise $25,000 by December 2018.
All donors may select from an array of thank-you gifts from the Beethoven Center’s gift shop.
